Custom Control Sensors, Inc Airborne Division provides custom switches for the aerospace, commercial aviation and government spare agency markets. CCS airborne switches have the highest quality and most competitive pricing available in the industry. Our leadership is the result of total commitment to cutting edge research and development for new products, materials and manufacturing methods to meet the most challenging applications - present and future.
The CCS Dual-Snap® pressure, differential, vacuum, temperature and flow switches are designed for aerospace applications. The unique application of the negative rate disc spring makes Dual-Snap® switches exceptionally well-suited to the most difficult aerospace functions. Most major commercial and military aircraft, as well as missiles, launchers and other space technology systems use Dual-Snap® switches which offer outstanding dependability and repeatability under conditions of severe
vibration, shock and temperature variation.
The negative rate disc spring frees Dual-Snap® switches from the problems of ordinary constant rate sensing elements such as flat metal diaphragms, bourdon tubes and bellows. The switch does not "trace" fluctuating pressures and the set points stay set, even under harsh ambient conditions. Disc spring design makes Dual-Snap® switches relatively impervious to surges and pump ripples encountered in conventional sensing elements. Contact chatter, premature fatigue and other common switch
complaints are eliminated.
Switches listed in this catalog cover pressure ranges from .25" H20 to 5,000 + psi. Normal service life ranges up to 500,000 operating cycles, proof pressures to 12,000+ psi. These switches are designed to operate in ambient temperature ranges from - 65'F to 450'F and withstand vibration up to 40 + G's at 3,000 Hz, shock loads up to 250 G's. Special switches have been assembled to operate with highly volatile, exotic fluids and withstand vibration through 65 Gs and shock exceeding 3,000 Gs,
with proof pressures to 25,000 PSIG.
All Dual-Snap aerospace switches are designed or can be modified to meet various requirements of MIL-S-9395, MIL-STD-810 or MIL-STD-202. These requirements, among others, include: Environmental test requirements such as salt spray, temperature cycling, humidity, sand and dust, moisture resistance; physical characteristic tests such as vibration, shock, acceleration, electrical characteristic tests such as dielectric, insulation resistance and contact resistance.
When forwarding an application data sheet or other request to the factory for quotation, please detail completely all of the specification levels to which the switch must be qualified.
CCS will have a display booth at the Farnborough Air Show July 19 thru 25, 2010.
Booth number will be posted at a later date.
