To combat ice build-up during flight on their latest commercial passenger aircraft, world-renowned aircraft manufacturer Boeing opted to use hot bleed air from the engines to heat the leading edge of each wing. To accomplish this, Boeing required not only specially-designed pressure switches to control the deicing system automatically but also a company that could design the switches and produce them at a rate of 200 switches per month.
