CCS Switches & Sensors in Rotorcraft Applications
Rotorcraft, such as helicopters, are built to maneuver in ways that fixed-wing aircraft simply cannot match. Using rotors and rotor blades, rotary-wing aircraft can hover or move in any direction in the air while also being able to take off and land vertically. Due to the extreme environments produced by the engines and rotors, these aircraft require unique sensors, switches, and transducers designed to withstand wide-ranging temperatures and low-frequency vibrations in a smaller and lighter package than those found in fixed-wing aircraft.
However, the traditional switches used in rotary-wing aircraft often use technologies such as trace devices that can be affected by extreme temperatures and low-frequency vibrations. CCS rotorcraft switches, on the other hand, utilize our patented Dual Snap® technology to mitigate issues like contact chatter caused by intense, low-frequency vibrations. With this technology and other innovations like it, CCS switches, sensors, and transducers are able to deliver a dependable lifespan while providing reliable and accurate pressure and temperature measurement for the de-icing, hydraulic, fuel and oil systems of rotary-wing aircraft.
