Job Description:

The Electrical Engineer will perform a variety of design, test and engineering functions under general direction related to CCS’ pressure and temperature sensor products.  Products include pressure transducers and transmitters utilizing silicone piezoresistive MEMS and Thin Film sensors for pressure applications; and wire wound RTD’s (Resistance Thermal Detectors) for temperature sensing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sensor design, development and testing efforts under direction on a variety of projects;
  • Review customer specifications and assist with technical proposals on new sensor applications;
  • Sensor testing using a variety of pressure, temperature and electronic equipment;
  • Calibration and temperature compensation of pressure sensors;
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing of new designs to verify the operational performance;
  • Documenting all electronic design and test activities;
  • Prepare ATPs, QTPs, QTRs, reliability, maintainability and other documents as needed;
  • Participate in customer design reviews;
  • Interface with external hardware/software resources;
  • Interface with CCS production to ensure products meet requirements and are testable during production;
  • Create new processes and design practices to satisfy CCS continuous improvement objectives;
  • Collaborate with peers, supervisors, and managers to improve efficiency and reduce component costs in development and production;
  • Perform trouble shooting as necessary on faulty sensors

Skills and Requirements:

  • Applicant must be ITAR compliant
  • 4 year BSEE degree;
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience;
  • Embedded designs (microprocessor, RAM, EEPROM), analog circuit design (OP-Amps, Filters, SPICE simulation), power supplies, digital circuit design, signal conversion and filtering, signal quality analysis and frequency response.
  • Must be proficient at Altium (Orcad, Dip trace or equivalent PCB design tools) and embedded software architecture.
  • Knowledge of PCB design and experience with design software tools including layout of different layers, trace width, via, component packages, pad arrangements and surface mount technologies (SMT) is a plus.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment such as: power supplies, multi-meters, dielectric, insulation resistance, etc.;
  • Familiarity with electronic product design and EMI noise filtering circuit protection
  • Experience with LABVIEW, MATLAB or similar test software;
  • RTCA-DO 160 & 258 standards knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of business software – MS Project, Excel, Word and Power Point;
  • Proficient knowledge of Quality Control processes and various stages of production process;
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and presenting product and service information to engineers, customers and operators;
  • Ability to effectively work from written travelers, blueprints, schematics and quality reports;

Job Description:

The Quality Engineer 1 will use strong problem solving skills to perform Root Cause Analysis and perform effective Corrective Actions.  He/She will perform quality tasks such as non-conforming hardware disposition, quality system audits, product evaluations, process monitoring, supplied part problem resolution, data analysis and lead/participate in various process improvement initiatives.  Including being proactive in eliminating waste(s) from existing operations and quality systems transactional processes, such as scrap, rework and warranty returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, improving process performance feedback using trend, pareto, and other quality tools;
  • Develop advance quality planning with respect to CCS and customer requirements;
  • Provide customer interface with respect to quality issues;
  • Determine if product meets specifications to performance, controlled by drawing, test procedure, of specifications of CCS or the customer;
  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Perform failure analysis on returned switches;

SWISS/TURN-MILL CNC PROGRAMMER

Job Description The Swiss/Turn-Mill CNC Programmer will manage the CNC-program creation process for machine shop with expanding CNC Swiss late and Turn-mill lathes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interprets drawings, create new solid models (where necessary) to generate CNC programs for Swiss lathes and/or multi-axis Turn-Mill (double-turret, double-spindle) machines using CAD/CAM system (preferably Part-Maker, FeatureCam, etc.)
  • Include proper methodology, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds in order to generate quality parts in accordance to product specifications.
  • Set-up to produce First Piece on the Swiss/Turn-Mill machines. Studies and interprets drawings, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements to maximize efficiency.
  • Creates set-up sheets (tool list, x-y-z home positions) and communicate with set-up machinists of the tooling requirements, fixtures, etc.
  • Monitors and verifies the accuracy of each job’s initial set-up and final outcome.
  • Revises, update, and maintain all programs and documents based on engineering changes or per process improvement projects dictate.
  • Work with machine shop supervisor/manager on process improvements and cycle time reductions including testing of new cutting tools and new processes to balance main/sub cycle time.
  • Communicates with set-up machinists and/or Machine Shop Supervisor/Manager regarding tooling/fixtures/material requirements for upcoming and/or existing jobs on the floor.
  • Provides shop floor assistance with inspection methods, training on machines, machine alarms, and program issues.
  • Communicates with the Quality Engineer to develop inspection methods, First Piece Inspections (FPI’s), and In-process inspection during production run.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Applicant must be ITAR compliant.
  • 5+ years of experience programming Swiss CNC Machines and/or Turn-Mill lathes (Tsugami, Star, and double-spindle + double-turret CNC machines) preferred.
  • Deep understanding of machining fundamentals or formula correlation of machining parameters (i.e. SFM, RPM, IPR, IPT, etc.) on cutting tool, work-piece materials, etc.
  • Knowledge of newer Fanuc controls (18i, 31i), including Tsugami machines (S-series, B0-series,) multi-axis turn-mill centers and ability to learn and adapt to ever changing technology
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment and the application of such instruments, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, comparators.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical drawings and specifications and ability to interpret geometric tolerances and dimensions call-outs on drawings.
  • Detailed knowledge of programming segments and corresponding operations.
  • Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars and inserts used on various machines
  • Knowledge and understanding of AS9100 quality system.
  • Proficient level of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, etc).
  • Familiar or working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
